Budget Committee Information

The Jackson County Fire District 4 Budget Committee reviews and approves the proposed budget before it is adopted by the Fire District Board of Directors. The Budget Committee acts as community oversight for the district's business and has the opportunity to discuss the details of the District's programs with the staff and other Budget Committee members.

Budget Committee members are non-compensated positions appointed by the Fire District Board of Directors. The Committee typically meets once annually in May. The purpose of the meeting is to receive the budget message and gather comments from the public on the budget. This is a public meeting where the Budget Committee will deliberate. Community members may attend the meeting to discuss the proposed programs with the Budget Committee.

The Budget Committee comprises the five Board of Directors and five community members.
