Elizabeth Higgs has been a dedicated member of the Shady Cove community for over 12 years, where she values the close-knit and supportive atmosphere that makes the area special. With a deep commitment to public service, she retired after 31 years with the State of Oregon, yet her passion for serving others has continued to drive her involvement in local initiatives.
Elizabeth's commitment to Jackson County Fire District 4 (FD4) began with her involvement in the JCFD4 Support Group, where she dedicated several years to supporting the district’s community outreach efforts. Recognizing her dedication and leadership qualities, fellow members encouraged her to run for a position on the Board of Directors. Motivated by her passion for public service and a desire to contribute further, she successfully ran for and was elected to the board.
As a dedicated Board Member, Elizabeth is committed to supporting the administration and operations of Jackson County Fire District 4. She recognizes the evolving needs of the district and works to ensure that resources, infrastructure, and staffing align with its mission of delivering high-quality emergency services. Her leadership emphasizes strategic growth, ensuring that both career and volunteer personnel have the support and space needed to operate effectively.
