Community service and involvement is important to Mike. He joined the JCFD4 board of directors in 2017 because he believes the organization is making a positive difference in its community.  He enjoys immensely being a part of making the Upper Rogue region a safer and better place to live.  As board president, he views his role as creating a positive and professional environment for the carrying out of the administration of both policy and budgetary matters.

He continually asks himself the question, “What is in the best interest of the whole district?”  This guides his decision making when it comes to issues affecting both district residents as well as that of the line staff and leadership.

Mike, his wife, and two kids have called Trail home since 2013.  His day (and night!) job is as the pastor of a local church.  He thus understands the tensions that come from always being “on duty” and seeks to use this insight to encourage the district staff to take good care of themselves. He enjoys backpacking, board games, books and Bible study, well as being in God’s creation with his family.
